Posture/Gesture
When I took the pictutre of my model for the front cover of my magazine I needed to decide on the posture and gesture of my model. I looked at other magazines of a similar genre until I found this VIBE magazine. I tried the pose and decided that the attitude worked perfectly. Also the way the model crosses his arms suggests that he doesnt want to reveal anything about himself even though the story next to the model says "Eminem comes clean". Similiraly on my magazine it says "Temple Fess's Up" next to my model. This shows even though they don't want to give any information about themselves away they still have to do it. I also asked my model to scold. This is so it shows even more of an attitude and to look masculine and strong. Also folding their arms makes them look bigger (stronger) and this is the kind of look you want in a male dominated magazine.
Shot/Angle
For the angle I used the eye level angle. This is because a high angle would make the artist look weak and a low angle would make the artist look too intimidating. Eye level also puts you on a personal level with the artist and this works well with the headline next to Eminem being "Eminem Comes Clean". It makes the audience feel as if they are talking to the artist themselves. For shot type I used medium long shot, this is because you can see my models shoulders aswell as his waist. I think that a close up will of looked to personal and a extreme long shot wouldnt work as I would have to have more than one picture on the front of the magazine.
Lighting/Clothing
The front cover of my magazine was dark yet around the model there is a white light so that he is brightened. This is to make him stand out compared to the rest of the magazine. Similiraly on the front of VIBE Eminem is well lit again to make him clear to see and the front of the magazine is also white. Eminem stands out from the magazine because he is wearing a black tank vest, the black tank top stands out from the white background making Eminem look powerful compared to rest of the magazine. My model is wearing a cap to show his youth and he also has it backwards to emphasis that youth. Adults can be associated with caps but are not generally seen wearing them backwards as this is more of a teenager concept. My model is wearing a shirt because although he is a teenager I wanted to portray him as grown up rather than being child like. The shirt also puts a nice mix into the colours on my the front of my magazine (Black, Red and White).
Hair
Although you cannot see my models hair, I still thought that I should make some point on hair styles I didnt choose. I didnt pick a model who had long hair because it would be misleading and point in the direction of a rock magazine rather than a Dub Step magazine. Also I didnt want my model to be bald because it would make him look like a thug and make people not buy the magazine.
