This person would fit the genre of my music magazine because he has a casual look that fits in with the magazine.
This model would fit the genre of my music magazine because also has a casual dress sense. This would make him look normal in my music magazine.
This model fits in with my genre because of the headphones that he is wearing. This could be a feature that I can incorporate into my music magazine.
This is a bad picture because the model was caught with his eyes shut. The model could fit my music genre.
This model would not fit my music genre as she looks like more of a rock model.
This model would fit the genre of my music magazine and could be used inside the contents or double page spread.

Research and Planning: Extra genre research
These two images are examples of album covers that are from my music genre. Both of the albums have some similarities and some differences. I think that both of these covers have abstract designs the top one has lots of boxes each containing a picture of example. There is a main heading at the top of the album cover that says 'Example'. This is the largest text because it shows the most importance seems as though it is the name of the artist. The second album cover does not have a picture of anyone but instead has the 'ministry of sound' logo and then the title below. The only image on this cover is an effect of crushed crystal that looks spiky.
Out of these two album covers i prefer the top one because i think that an album cover would make the CD sell better if it has a picture of the artist on the front.
Research and Planning: SLR camera test
I used the manual focus on this picture. I wouldn't use this picture because it is slightly blurred. The pictures inside do not have very good lighting and that is why i would not use it.
Even though it was fairly grey outside this picture had great lighting on it. The background is blurred and the person is in high quality. Again I used manual focus and it worked well by blurring the background. I prefer the outdoor pictures because they have a natural light which makes them look even better.
The image on this picture is blurry but the lighting is still very good.
This picture may be too bright as the flash was used.
These pictures are much better in comparison to the pictures I took on my college magazine. This is because of the cameras which have a much better quality. I noticed that the pictures that I took outside had 10x better lighting than the ones taken inside. I will take this into consideration when I take pictures for my magazine.

Reearch and planning: Extra genre research
This is a famous artist called "Example". This is the type of person who would be on the front of my magazine. He fits into my genre, not only because of the music he produces but also the way he dresses. "Example" dresses casually by just wearing a t-shirt. This makes the audience feel comfortable rather than making them feel less to "example". Because this genre features light colours, his jacket is a bright blue that will instantly catch attention.
The artists mood is as if he has not posed for the picture but was just caught putting his hood up. This emphasizes the casual atmosphere.

Research and Planning: Costume and Prop List
Costumes-
T-Shirts for the models. The T-Shirts can be from the models wardrobe.
Hooded jumpers for the models. The models will have a hooded top. If not I will bring one. The models will need to wear jeans, this is because they are casual and look nice. I think tracksuit pants will be too casual and the magazine will have a bad look.
Prop list-
Decks from the music room
Microphone from the music room

Research and planning: Double page spread analysis
This is a double page spread from a dub step magazine. The main thing I noticed on this page is that the background is black. This could be to make the page stand out from all the other pages in the magazine, that from my research, will be bright and colorful. On the left hand side of the page there are two columns of text whereas on the right hand side, the full page has a famous artist on the front of it. This could be to emphasis his importance and dominance. The colour scheme on this page is black, red and white. The background is mainly black whereas the text is white. The red text is used as a quote for the famous artist, again this could be to make him stand out. From the analysis of this page I have also realized that the model in the magazine also dresses to the colour scheme by wearing black and red.
There is a clear colour scheme of red, black and white. The dominant background colour is black with some red text and three red stripes at the top. The artist is also wearing a lighter shade of black t-shirt that also has red stripes along the shoulder. This shows continuity of colour right across the pages.
The small red paragraph is a personal note from the artist himself. It is red to show its importance and difference as well as showing that the words came out of his mouth. The paragraph is away from the rest of the text the same way the artist is again showing dominance.
There is a medium close up on the artist this is so we the audience feel as if we are talking to the artist face to face. This is emphasized by the direct eye contact the artist is also giving us.
The use of columns shows that this is a magazine text rather than a novel. The large image and quote also shows that this is a magazine.
